The waterfalls in this book only represent about 20% of the waterfalls to be found in South Carolina, but they are the best South Carolina has to offer and this book is of very high quality. Benjamin Brooks and Tim Cook have covered 27 waterfalls, each with generous text, related information, access notes, and a full page color photograph. In addition, the book (done in partnership with Duke Power) is printed on glossy stock. It's a well executed book.
The book groups the falls in three geographic clusters. The book has limited introductory material including advice on the basics of waterfall photography, and there is a list of the waterfalls in the appendix giving geocoordinates.
The Bottom Line: The structure of the book is a bit choppy, but don't let that dissuade you from obtaining a copy of this book. The photographs are well executed and serve to whet the appetite for exploration. It's better than most waterfall books available.
