The shore of Lake Superior northeast of Duluth, Minnesota has dozens, perhaps hundreds of waterfalls scattered along its length as various rivers and streams make a boisterous descent to the largest of our Great Lakes.

This well crafted guidebook offers details to roughly 60 waterfalls in this highly concentrated area. The photos, while black and white, are well printed and tightly focused. The book is printed on quality stock and is thoughtfully laid out. Each waterfall (in several cases, multiple waterfalls including unnamed waterfalls along a stream are included) is given a fact box detailing Hike Difficulty, Trail Quality, Distance (round trip), and a 5 star rating for the overall experience. The falls also come with a detailed map. Scattered throughout the book are little factoid boxes that give information on various local flora, fauna or history. The text is aptly descriptive and well written.

The Bottom Line: This book provides plenty of information for the local hiker/waterfall enthusiast, and would be a fine addition to your waterfall library.
