I was surprised at the quality of this book. Most waterfall books are lovingly created by those of us who are hard bitten by the waterfall bug. Most of the waterfall books and websites are developed by people who've spent countless hours on the trail, in the library, or online researching, cataloging, and photographing these watery delights. This book wasn't created by one or two individuals, but rather by a design team of writers and photographers at the behest of Malaysia's Ministry of Agriculture, Malaysia's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and by Malaysia Airlines. This essentially amounts to corporate sponsorship. Talk about our wildest and most fevered dreams...
The book is a hardcover full-color effort. The waterfalls (not a complete list as Malaysia is a very mountainous and tropical area likely containing thousands of waterfalls, named or otherwise) are arranged by states. Each waterfall entry has a brief blurb of descriptive narrative, photo or photos, and a small map. It's not designed as a guidebook per se, but could be pressed into service as such if you have any map reading skills whatsoever.
The Bottom Line: This book is a small scale coffee table book as much as it is a list of waterfalls. The waterfall data is partially lacking, but that's no reason to avoid grabbing a copy of this book if you can find one.
