Weeping Wall
Alberta, Canada

This waterfall has been surveyed, mapped and measured in person by the World Waterfall Database.

The falls consist of three primary streams which fall parallel over the two-stepped cliff. Topographic maps suggest the total drop of the falls is around 360 meters (1180 feet). We were only able to accurately measure the lower tier, which stands 427 feet tall itself, so assuming the topographic data is correct and assuming a talus runout between the two drops is present, the upper tier should stand around 600 feet tall.

This waterfall occurs along a stream that is known to vary greatly in volume and as a result may not flow consistently year round or may dry out completely during certain periods.

Our thoughts
Weeping Wall is certainly worthy of a look, especially when its flowing well, but unless its flowing exceptionally hard nothing more than a cursory glance is needed from the roadside turnout. Those who may wish to take a closer look can do so with relative ease, however.
Location and directions
This falls can be found 18 ½ km south of the Columbia Icefields Center along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. The feature is marked by a brown wooden sign pointing at the falls. A short but steep trail leads to the base of the falls across from the pullout.

Photography tips
The falls face west, and are prone to very bad lighting in the morning, when the sun rises right over the cliffs, so plan on visiting in the afternoon or evening for the most even lighting.
