The falls are named for the watercourse. It translates to "spray stream."
Our thoughts
This waterfall is the crown jewel of Lauterbrunnen valley. The valley has several major and minor falls scattered along its length, but the waterfall on Staubbach (Spray stream) is the most famous in the valley. The terrain immediately above the fall is also quite steep, we're fairly certain that a chain of cascades exists above the main drop.
Location and directions
From Interlaken, turn south into Lauterbrunnen valley. Staubbachfall is on your right at approximately the 11 kilometer mark. The recommendation would be to arrive early in the day as Lauterbrunnen has several waterfalls of merit. Ideally, you'd have time to visit them all.

Photography tips
This is a wide open plunge. The falls are completely visible. A bright sunny day isn't a bad time to shoot this waterfall. The presence of a blue sky will prevent the water from appearing to pour out of the sky as it would on an overcast day. The falls are visible and photogenic from a variety of places around the valley.
