This waterfall has been surveyed, mapped and measured in person by the World Waterfall Database.

Surrounding the falls on both sides of the highway is extensive pasture land, throughout which sheep can be seen grazing on the grassy hillsides. When surveyed in June 2011, several dozen sheep were marching right down the middle of the highway to find different areas to graze, seemingly unfazed by the passing cars and trucks (and most passing cars seemed unfazed by a herd of sheep roaming in the middle of a highway).
HISTORY AND NAMES
- Heggheimsfossen is the Unofficial name of this waterfall
We have not been able to find any official title for this waterfall. For the purpose of reference we have opted to list it after the mountain immediately south of the falls, Heggheimsfjellet, however there is a very likely possibility that there may be a more colloquially accepted name for the falls.
Location and directions
Heggheimsfossen can be found 7.6 km north of the town of Skei along the E39 in Våtedalen. There is no space to park immediately across from the falls, so instead look for a pull off on the west side of the road about 400 meters to the south of the falls. Additionally a small road branches off from the E39 between this pullout and the falls which may also provide space for one car to park without blocking traffic.

Photography tips
The falls face almost due west but the deep, narrow confines of Våtedalen will restrict direct sunlight to probably no more than 3-4 hours per day at most.
