Detailed Information:

The meltwater of the Ahern Glacier drops over a cliff face in several streams to the waters of Helen Lake below. The total elevation loss from the toe of the glacier to the lake is about 2800'. The steepest vertical section of the side by side falls is the southernmost, dropping a virtually sheer 1680' to a talus slope that eventually drains into the lake.
