HISTORY AND NAMES
- Lower Salmon Falls is the Official name of this waterfall
Lower Salmon Falls formerly spanned the breadth of the Snake River just downstream of the town of Hagerman, stretching nearly a quarter mile wide and dropping about 20 feet. The Lower Salmon Falls Dam was built on top of the falls such that about half of the falls are submerged beneath the impounded water and the other half has been dewatered except when used partially for a spillway at high water.
